Factors to consider when choosing twin strollers

Parents of twins have lots of decisions to make and lets face it, little spare time. Purchasing twin strollers may not be the biggest decision being made but the type and quality will be important to avoid having to replace your twin stroller over and over again.

Basically there are three styles of double strollers to consider, side-by-side, front to back and of course the twin jogging stroller.

Important factors to consider when choosing strollers. Where will you be using your stroller and what kind of activities and terrain will you be exposing your stroller to? If your planning on using it off-road, hitting the trails, on gravel, the beach or snow then the twin jogging stroller might just fit the bill. If you prefer to shop lots with your wee ones, then the tandem twin strollers with front to back may keep little hands from wandering onto the shelves and be easier to maneuver through the aisles. Side-by-side multiple strollers give each child a front view, so there may be less hair pulling going on, but you never know. A common complaint with the side-by-side is the width. Best word of advice is to try out strollers at the store, before you buy. Often if you go to a higher end store they will let you thoroughly check out the strollers, even practice folding, and placing them in your vehicle to see if it will fit. Borrow children if you have to, so you can get the feel of taking them in and out, this lets you know if they will have enough leg room or how well it rolls and turns with a full load. Twin strollers can be tippy, does this one feel secure?

Make a list of features you want or need in your double stroller, like large underneath baskets. Can you put infant car seats in it or do you need to purchase an adapter? Is the material machine washable? Does it have a five point harness system, canopies and reclining seats? What ever is important to you, talk to other parents and learn from them {or their mistakes}. Then once you have decided on what you like, search around for the best deal, chances are the same stroller is available in a less expensive shop.
